Manufacturing Customised Cases Since 1973
Consort is one of Ireland’s and the UK’s leading manufacturers of customised cases and vacuum formed products with over thirty years experience in the manufacturing industry.
Consort Case's Roots
Consort was established in Enfield, North London in the 1970’s and setup its Irish branch in 1975. We now operate our complete manufacturing process (including research and development, sales, marketing, production and assembly) from our 15,000 sq ft, 3 acre premises in Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, Ireland.
Manufacture of Large Volume Cases
Initially Consort were the major suppliers of large volumes of cases to companies such as Argos, Pitney Bowes and Linguaphone. Over the years the emergence of Chinese and Far Eastern manufacturers caused the European manufacturing climate to change. European manufacturers were not as cost effective as their Asian counterparts at producing mass volumes of a generic product.
Customised Cases and Packaging Market
At Consort, we reviewed our marketing strategy and identified a niche in the marketplace - the manufacture of customised cases and packaging. It was decided that tailored solutions would be designed for clients who require smaller numbers of cases with specialist inserts made from materials such as foam, PVC, boards and formings. Consort has all of the in-house skills and experience necessary to provide this specialist service and over time we have become an important supplier in this area.
Consort continued to grow from strength to strength in the customised cases market and naturally progressed into the contract moulding and vacuum forming sector. At present, we specialise in medium-heavy gauge (2-8mm) sheet, forming anything up to 2000mm x 1000mm in size. Today, we operate four vacuum forming machines, including a high-pressure former to achieve extreme detail. We also offer an extensive trimming, routing and assembly service that enables us to produce high quality finished parts.
Where very precise and consistent routing and trimming is required on complex parts, we use our 5-axis CNC machine which can route anything up to 2000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm. Using our extensive knowledge of moulding hundreds of different shapes and sizes of case shells and trays we have developed a strong and reliable reputation as a vacuum former.
Our Custom Case and Vacuum Forming Customers
Our customers are typically from areas such as the medical, electronic, marketing and service industries but we have dealt with companies from a variety of sectors. At Consort we aim to provide casing and vacuum forming solutions for every requirement and welcome the challenge of testing our abilities on even the most unusual and diverse requests.
So whether you have a casing or vacuum forming requirement, we at Consort are confident in our ability to design and manufacture a fast, efficient and cost effective solution.
