Vacuum Forming Materials and Finishes
Several types of materials can be used including ABS, High Impact Styrene (HIPS), Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene and PETG.
Sheet thicknesses starting at 0.5mm and up to 8.0mm can be formed while sheet sizes can be formed up to 2,000 x 1,000 and 1,500 x 1,500.
Consort is frequently involved in moulding unusual material combinations, for example pre-printed, flock sprayed and soft touch. New developments are always welcome.
The surface finish is usually imprinted into the sheet material at the extrusion stage (embossed rollers). Common finishes are pinseal, leather effect, roebuck and shot blasted.
Any pantone colour is available. The only criteria we request is that a minimum of 1 tonne of material will be used.
Colours also include a full range of metallic effects which are quite contemporary – the parts can look excellent.
When quantities do not merit the purchase of a tonne of material, Consort hold large stocks of black sheet at various thicknesses. Parts can also be spray finished to an exact colour if required.
