Vacuum FormingVacuum Forming is a professional low to medium cost plastic moulding process. It is especially useful for parts that have a large surface area compared to their material thickness - for example covers, panels, linings and packaging. We have produced thousands of shapes and sizes through this process and examples can be seen throughout the vacuum forming section on the website or on our brochure. Consort currently exports formings to the United States of America, Italy, Russia and the United Kingdom, as well as having a strong developing home market. If you have a potential vacuum forming project or requirement please contact us to discuss it in more detail and for a quick and competitive quotation.
Pressure FormingConsort also offers a pressure forming service, which is a cost effective, high quality alternative to injection moulding. When production volumes run between 50 – 5,000 units, the low tooling costs and quick turn around of parts make this a very viable moulding technique. It offers similar design and styling benefits of injection moulding at a fraction of the cost. This is especially useful on products with short life cycles as tools can be modified to suit market demands. Examples of products moulded include computer fascias, machine bezels, electric fire components and high tech signs. This moulding technique can also be used for the design stage of a product before any financial commitment is made to injection moulding tools and production. Up to 80% savings can be made on comparable injection moulding tooling costs.
